Your Frame, Your Fit

Two things tell you whether a frame will work on your face: the measurements and your face shape. Both take three minutes to understand — and change how you shop for glasses forever.

The Perfect Measurement

Every pair of glasses has three numbers printed on the inside of the temple arm. These numbers are the most reliable guide to fit.

Understanding frame measurements

52
mm — first number

Lens Width

The width of one lens from inner to outer edge. This is the most important measurement for fit. Your frame width should roughly match your face at its widest point.

18
mm — second number

Bridge Width

The gap between the lenses at the nose. A bridge that's too wide will cause the frames to slide down. Match your current bridge measurement for the best fit.

145
mm — third number

Temple Length

The length of the arm from hinge to tip. Most adults wear 140–145mm. This affects comfort around the ears — too short and they'll pinch.

Find Your Face Shape

Face shape is a useful shorthand — not a rule. Think of it as a starting point for narrowing down styles.

Finding your face shape

Oval

Longer than wide, with a forehead slightly broader than the jaw. The most balanced face shape.

Almost everything works. Keep frame width in line with your cheekbones.

Alyssum Sun Build Me Up Buttercup

Round

Full cheeks with a rounded jawline. Face width and length are close to equal.

Angular and rectangular frames add definition and balance natural softness.

Lotus Sun Steel Magnolias

Square

Strong angular jaw with a broad forehead. Defined, prominent bone structure.

Round and oval frames soften strong angles. Avoid frames that echo squareness.
